STRATEGIES

In preparation for intercession, we first, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and inter His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations” (Ps 100:4-5).

We purpose in our hearts to “come boldly (with certainty, assurance and confidence), to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb 4:16).

We confess, “Now this is the confidence we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (I Jn 5:14-15).

It’s important that we pray, not seeking victory, but from a position of victory. “Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ…” (II Cor 2:14).

Above all Jesus is our strategy! We pray in His name, the name that is above every name in heaven and on earth. Through His death on the cross and resurrection He has, “disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” (Col 2:15).

“After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God” (Rev 19:1)!

Suggested Prayer Targets: Pray in agreement using these targets as a launching pad to effective intercession being led by the Holy Spirit who knows exactly how we should pray.

This is not an exhaustive list nor is it intended to be. The Holy Spirit will birth specific targets of intercession for your area of the nation as well as what relates to current events nationally and internationally.

Strategies and targets will come progressively, consistently, and often prior to the enemy’s tactics. Dismantle the schemes of the enemy before they manifest as the Spirit gives fresh revelation. Remember this is an all-out charge!

#1 – Pray God would search us and try us, first individually, the church as a whole and as a nation who has departed from Him and His ways. II Chronicles 7:14, although often quoted, still contains the key to seeing sins forgiven and the land healed. “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land”

Cry out over the sins of the church and the land through identificational repentance. Ask God to reveal and bring genuine conviction over specific sins that have grieved the Holy Spirit, (ex. Fault-finding, gossip, slander, false accusations, pride, bitterness, unforgiveness, building our kingdom, compromise, worldliness, idolatry, prayerlessness, disobedience, doing what was not of faith, ingratitude, unbelief, etc.). Ask Him to search us as with a lamp (Zephaniah 1:12), and for the gift of repentance and godly sorrow over our sins to be poured out on us the church first and then the nation.

(One example of the churches sin lies in how, just as the nation has departed from the constitution, we have often departed from the standard of God’s word in making decisions and in how we conducted our affairs in this life.)

“the Lord said to him, ‘Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a mark on the foreheads of those who sign and cry over all the abominations that are done within it” (Ez 9:4).

#2 – Pray for those on the front lines standing for truth and righteousness in the governmental, medical field, media, education and spiritual arenas. Include their families and pray, “no weapon formed against you will prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn” (Is 54:17).

#3 - Jesus said, “Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered, (concealed), that will not be revealed, (uncovered or discovered), and hidden that will not be known” (Matt 10:26).

Pray the wicked works being done and planned in secret be revealed for all to see. Name aloud as many of those works and schemes the Spirit brings to your mind. Pray corruption in the church and throughout the land be revealed. Pray for God’s justice.

“For when Your judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness” (see Isaiah 26:9-11).

#4 – As truth sets and keeps men and nations free, lies and falsehoods do just the opposite. Lies lead men and nations into bondage and will cause multitudes to perish without ever coming to the knowledge of the truth.

Pray or (read aloud) from Psalms 5 praying truth will triumph over lies. “For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness… You shall destroy those who speak falsehoods; The Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man… Their throat is an open tomb… Pronounce them guilty, (make them bear their guilt), O God! … For they have rebelled against You (Ps 5:4, 6, 9b, 10).

Pray, “For You are my (America’s) rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, lead me and guide me, pull me (America and the nations) out of the net which they have secretly laid for me. For You are our strength” (Ps 31:3-4).

#5 – After declaring He would build His church upon the Rock of Revelation of whom He was and is, Jesus promised, “and the gates of Hades (Hell) shall not prevail against it”. Furthermore, after proclaiming great blessing upon Abraham because of His obedience, God promised, “and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies” (Gen 22:17).

Pray the gates keeping people in captivity and from the truth of the gospel be opened and gates allowing spiritual darkness to come upon the land be closed. Pray specifically in various realms.

#6 – The Scriptures confirm, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down, (tearing down, destroying) arguments, (thoughts and mindsets), and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (II Cor 10:4-5).

Ask the Holy Spirit to identify specific strongholds of lies and mindsets being promoted and believed in your region and in the nation. Pray II Cor 10:4-5 over it. By faith pull it down from the atmosphere. Bind it in Jesus name and loose the minds of the people from being held captive or influenced by it. An example is the spirit of fear being promoted over the media that has gripped the hearts of many. Pull it down where God has placed you using the word of God as the sword of the Spirit.

After promising the gates of hell would not prevail against the church Jesus said to the church, (you and me), “And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth, (will have been bound) in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth, (will have been loosed in heaven)” (Matt 16:19). We have been given this authority.

#7 – In Rev 12: 12 we see where the devil has great wrath and has only a short time, (brief, little) of which to display it. However, we also find in Daniel 11:27, “Both these king’s hearts shall be bent on evil, and they shall speak lies at the same table; BUT IT SHALL NOT POSPER, for the end will still be at THE APPOINTED TIME.

Evil has always sought to get ahead of what was only an appointed or designated time. All that is done prematurely by the powers of darkness, the church has authority to stop.

Being led by the Spirit and standing on the Word of God, pray that acts of evil being done ahead of the time God has determined, (the short time as defined in Rev 12:12) in your region and the nation come to an end. Be specific and bind them in Jesus name.

“Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the just” (Ps 7:9).

A prayer prayed daily by up to 150 million Christians in China:

Dear Lord Jesus as Your children and by Your precious blood, we claim China for Your majesty and glory. If this means Lord that we are to die for You, that is ok, but our prayer is that the evil of Xi be destroyed for claiming he is God Almighty. We ask this in Jesus’ name and by His precious blood, Amen.

#8 – Psalm 149:5-9 gives the church a strategy and a command on how to live and pray in times such as we’ve entered. Read the verses and you will discover that as for the saints (believers), we are to:

a.     Be joyful in glory

b.     Remain in a place of rest (our beds)

c.      Proclaim the high praises of God from our mouths

d.     Hold firm the two-edged sword (God’s Word) in our hand (authority)

e.     Execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples

f.       Bind their kings or the spiritual darkness that has bound the nations and peoples.

g.     Bind their nobles, (the elite or super wealthy that are at war with God) with fetters (shackles) of iron, (where they can’t get out or ever do what they have done again).

h.    Execute on them the written judgments, (what God has spoken and is written in His word only).

i.       This is an honor given to all His saints.

God has called His church to love the world Jesus died for. He is love and we are to follow in His footsteps. Yet while, “the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God” (James 1:20), God is a God of righteous justice. His judgments are righteous because of who He is. They are also written throughout His word.

When we pray His will be done of earth as it is in heaven, and while it is His will that “none perish….it also includes both, “the goodness and severity of God” (Rom 11:22).

#9 – In II Samuel we find this prayer strategy. “Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. “And David said, “O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!” (II Sam 15:31)

Pray the true conspirators working behind the scenes to bring down the global economy, lock down churches, bring death and destruction and advance Satan’s agenda be turned into foolishness and stopped. In Jesus Name!

“Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues (their counsel)” Psalm 55:9

#10 – Pray all witchcraft, every spell, incantation, sorcery, curse and every form of spiritual deception and captivity be cast down, exposed, and bound from taking place among this and the nations, its leaders and population. Pled the blood of Jesus declaring that Jesus became a curse for us and those we are interceding for. “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”) (Galatians 3:13).

#11 – Pray from Psalm 2 where we see that even thou the nations rage and the people are plotting vain things, we can and are to boldly “ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession” (Ps 2:8). Boldly and confidently ask the Lord for this and nations. Thank Him for His promise.

This chapter not only reminds us that our God sits in the heavens and laughs, but eventually He “shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress, (terrify, alarm, dismay and bewilder) them. His laughing does not last forever.

#12 – In Acts 2 we find the promise of a last day outpouring of His Spirit along with a promise spoken on our children, men, women and indeed all flesh. Also, the assurance is made that, “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, (save, rescued, preserve safe and unharmed, saved from final ruin, to rescue from unbelief, set free, converted)”. Standing in the gap for those who can’t stand for themselves, call upon the Lord for this and the nations. Nations and peoples God so loved, and Jesus died for.

“If disaster, comes upon us-sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine- we will stand before this temple and in Your presence, (for your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save” (II Chron 20:9)
